EA Games: Powered by Steam

Seems that EA has seen the error of its ways and has decided to convert all of its future games, plus some current ones, to the very popular Steam network.

With the latest batch of complaints about Spore and Mass Effect having unreasonable DRM control, I had all but hated EA.  They really did go too far with all the restraints and made it a hassle to even install the game right out of the box, but now, all that is in the past, and future for the company is becoming increasingly optimistic.

Reasons why this is awesome:  Not only will you be able to buy EA games with no DRM, but now you can download them on the Steam network for a lower price. This would have been amazingly convenient for the Spore release, even though that ended very bad…  Also, this will make it much more useful when playing online with other gamers. Adding them to your Steam buddies list will keep your friends close, and your enemies closer (sorry, i had to…)

There still may be some unfinished work left to do, but so far, everything is look good for EA.  Time to just wait and see how it all turns out.
