Steam Cloud, Left 4 Dead Premiere This Week

The highly anticipated Left 4 Dead demo came out on Steam a few days ago, and it was simply awesome. Watching it in SD really doesn’t display what the game is all about. It’s a four and a half minute thrill ride that made me want to buy the game that instant. But fortunately, that empty wallet made me take a step back and realize that at $45, it’s worth the wait to play the demo and make sure. See the awesomevideo below. The demo will be out November 6th for pre-orders, and November 11th for everyone else. I can’t wait.

With Left 4 Dead comes Valve’s Steam Cloud service. The service, which will be free, promises to store user-defined controls in new Steam games. It’s a shock, really, at this point, that this is revolutionary and will be making waves. We can browse folders online from a PC at home, but can’t get the personalized settings of a video game? You need to rethinkyour priorities, Microsoft/EA/Valve. Valve is also working to add the functionality in already released games. Odds on Team Fortress 2 being the first back dated game? I’m at 3:1.
