It was a rather big day in Xbox land, as MGS and Lionhead Studios officially launched Fable 2. Immediate reaction was overall positive, with the score sitting at an 89 on Metacritic currently. Gamespot gave it a 8.5, but 809 member votes rank it considerably higher at 9.1. It’ll no doubt the the best seller this week, but will battle Guitar Hero World Tour, which comes out next week.
According to the official PlayStation blog (via), a minor update to the PSP will be unveiled very soon. It is supposed to fix those people rich enough to afford memory stick pro duo cards with 8GB space or more. Reading between the lines, Sony’s gonna be putting out a lot of little updates to block the M33 users of the world. Unfortunate, really, as it took no time at all for Dark Alex to hack it.
According to Newsweek (via), the first 40,000 rabid fans to hit the LA Convention Center on June 5-6. Kotaku speculated on this more than a month ago. Honestly, this comes as no surprise, as the struggling ESA tries to maintain relevancy after no E3 in 2008 and having five members leaving. No word on the booth babes, though Newsweek’s checking it out.
