The chat function on the Creative Zen X-Fi has confused many people. I’ve set up a video guide to help. I’ll write it out step by step in text below the video.
Firstly, you’ll need to connect to a wireless gateway (not shown in video). Here’s how to do it:
Make sure that your player’s wireless LAN feature is set to AUTO.
- Go to System from your Main Menu.
- Choose Wireless LAN.
- Check if it is set to AUTO.
To connect to a network:
- Navigate to Online.
- Choose Media Server.
- Go to Available Network.
- Select from a list of available networks
- For secured networks
, enter the network password (or encryption key).
- For public hotspots, you may be required to enter your Logon ID and password.
The above information is from this Creative Support page.
You are now connected to the Creative chat servers. You can now chat with others on the Creative server. The following is how to add the Windows Live and Yahoo! Messenger gateways to the player.
Having problems? Firstly, check the data for your nickname, e-mail address and password. It took me several times because I forgot a number or left out a letter. If that doesn’t solve it, leave a note below or post in the EpiZENter.net forums.<a href=” >object>
